Run order and editing
Use per-run Edit mode to reorder stops or reassign a selection, and choose whether changes apply daily.

Each driver's lane on the Dispatch board has its own Edit mode for restructuring the run — reordering stops or moving a batch of trips to another driver — without disturbing the rest of the board.
Entering Edit mode
- On the Dispatch board, find the driver's lane and click Edit in the lane header.
- The lane shows an Editing order badge. Only one lane can be edited at a time — other lanes' Edit buttons are disabled until you finish.
While editing, the helper text explains the model: click stops to select (click again to deselect), then use the up/down arrows to reorder — or reassign the selection to another driver.
Reordering stops
- Use the Move up / Move down chevrons on a row (or the arrow keys) to shift a stop.
- A pickup can never move below its own drop-off — ZeitRide enforces the pairing.
- Stops that are already completed or in progress are locked in place; you can only reorder what hasn't happened yet.
- When the order differs from what's saved, an Unsaved order chip appears. Click Save order to commit, or Cancel to discard.
Recurring runs: today or every day?
If every trip in the run is recurring, saving asks a scope question — Save run order: apply the new stop order to This day only or to Every occurrence. Choose Every occurrence when this is simply how the run should always go; the same order then materializes on future days.
Reassigning a selection
While in Edit mode, select one or more stops, then open Reassign to driver and pick the new driver. This is the fastest way to split a heavy run — select the second half and move it to another driver in one action.
Temporary changes instead
The lane header also has a Temporary button — use it when a reorder or reassignment should apply only for a date range and then revert automatically. See Temporary schedule changes.
Tips for clean runs
- Watch the lane's capacity pill while reordering — a different order changes who's on board when, and the per-stop On board count updates to match.
- Reorder before the run starts. Once stops complete, they lock, and late reordering can trigger the out-of-order guard (see Managing stops).
- If two dispatchers work the same board, saves are protected — the second save simply retries against the latest order.
