Live Tracking

Live Tracking (sidebar → Operations → Live Tracking) is where you see your whole fleet at once and dig into any one vehicle. It has three parts:

• Vehicles on the left: every vehicle, with search and quick filters.
• The map in the middle: one calm marker per vehicle, updating while the page is open.
• The vehicle panel on the right: opens when you pick a vehicle, with five tabs (Overview, Camera, Replay, Events, Health).

Positions refresh automatically every 30 seconds. Refreshing pauses while the browser tab is hidden and catches up when you return. The pill at the top left shows Live, or how long ago the last update arrived.

Vehicle status

Every vehicle has one of four statuses. The status sets the marker colour, the dot in the list and the counts across the top:

• Moving: a fresh location (from the last 5 minutes) at 3 mph or more. Moving markers show a direction arrow and a soft, slow pulse.
• Stopped: a recent location, but not moving. This covers being at a stop, in traffic, or waiting.
• Parked: stopped at the vehicle's saved parking spot.
• Offline: no location for more than 30 minutes.

Click a count at the top (for example 3 stopped) to show only those vehicles. Click it again to show everyone.

Finding a vehicle

• Search by fleet number, vehicle, plate, driver or rider name.
• Use the chips under the search box to filter by status. Camera shows only vehicles with a ZeitRide Cam.
• Each row shows the driver, the vehicle's fleet number, and what's next, for example "28 mph · Pickup Rosa Alvarez · 10:30 AM".

Click a row or a marker to open that vehicle. The map glides to it, fades the other vehicles a little, and shows its upcoming stops as numbered pins joined by a dotted line. Click the map background or press Esc to close the panel.

Overview

The top of the panel describes what the vehicle is doing in one plain sentence, for example "Dana is on the way to pick up Rosa Alvarez at 12 Main St, expected around 10:52 AM."

Below it:

• Speed, Last ping and Stops done for today.
• Follow on map keeps the map centred on the vehicle as it moves. Dragging the map stops following.
• Coming up: the driver's remaining stops in driving order, with live ETAs when available, otherwise the scheduled time.

Camera

For vehicles with a ZeitRide Cam:

• The latest road and cabin stills, and Watch live for live video. Live video is available to company admins, and each viewing is logged.
• Message the cab screen (admins): a short note on the driver's camera screen.
• Recent footage, with the same filters as the vehicle's Telematics page.

Vehicles without a camera show a short note instead. Their location comes from the driver app.

Replay

Replay plays back the vehicle's route for today. It works for every vehicle, whether the location comes from the driver app or a dash cam.

• Press Play, or drag the timeline to any moment. The map shows the whole day faintly, the part already played in solid colour, and a marker at the chosen time.
• Choose a playback speed (1×, 8×, 32×).
• Speed through the day charts the vehicle's speed. Below it are the day's Distance, Top speed, and time Moving and Stopped. Gaps of more than 5 minutes with no signal aren't counted as moving or stopped.

Events

For camera vehicles, Events lists the last 7 days of safety events, such as hard braking, speeding, idling and possible impacts. Each event has its stills or clip, which you can open full size.

Health

• Camera vehicles: fuel level, odometer, engine hours, active fault codes from the last 7 days, and the camera's own status.
• Other vehicles: whether the driver app is reporting, the time of the last ping, and the vehicle's plate and seats. Fuel, odometer and fault codes need a dash cam.

Map controls

At the bottom right of the map:

• Zoom in / Zoom out.
• Show the whole fleet zooms back out to fit every vehicle.
• Traffic turns the live traffic overlay on or off. Your choice is remembered on that browser.

Classic map

The previous map, with the driver runs panel and drag-to-assign, is still available at /live-tracking/classic: click Classic map at the top right of Live Tracking. The map docked on the Dispatch screen also stays the same.

Where the location comes from

• By default, positions come from the driver app. It shares location during the driver's shift at the interval you set under Settings → Driver app → Location & GPS tab, in the Mobile trip tracking card (see Company settings tour). Pings stop when the driver clocks out.
• If your company has Dash Cam telematics turned on, you can switch the location source to the dash cam under Settings → Integrations → Telematics tab. The camera reports continuously, without the driver app open. See Dash Cam.

Tip: A vehicle that goes Offline during a shift usually means the driver's app was closed or lost signal. On the dash cam source, it usually means the vehicle is powered off. Check Last ping in the panel before calling the driver.
