Broker trip statuses explained

What Valid, Invalid, Superseded, Updated, No broker trip, and Turned back mean on the Trip List.

Last updated July 19, 2026

Broker trips carry extra status information beyond the normal trip lifecycle, because the broker can change or cancel a booking on their side at any time. This page decodes the badges you'll see on the Trip List.

Valid vs. Invalid tabs

The Trip List splits into two tabs:

  • Valid — trips in good standing that you can schedule, edit, and bill.
  • Invalid — trips the broker has cancelled, not accepted, or replaced. These rows are read-only: you can see them (useful when a member calls about a ride the broker pulled), but you can't assign or bill them, and they're excluded from claims.

A trip moving from Valid to Invalid isn't an error in ZeitRide — it reflects a change the broker made.

Status badges on broker rows

  • Valid (green) — the broker's status for this trip is in good standing.
  • Invalid (orange) — the broker's status makes this trip non-actionable; the row moves to the Invalid tab.
  • Updated — the broker edited the booking after it was made (time or address changed). The trip stays schedulable; double-check the details.
  • Superseded — the broker re-issued the ride under a new booking number. The old row is retired; the replacement appears as its own trip. Don't work the superseded row.
  • No broker trip — this is an occurrence of one of your recurring trips for which the broker hasn't sent the dated booking yet. It's fully schedulable; the broker's trip number attaches automatically when their booking arrives. If it never arrives, the trip can't bill as a claim for that date.
  • Recurring — a standing-order ride shown from your recurring schedule ahead of the broker's dated booking.

Lifecycle statuses

Broker trips use the same lifecycle badges as your own trips — Scheduled, Enroute, Complete, Cancelled, No-show — plus one of their own:

Common situations, decoded

What you seeWhat happenedWhat to do

Note: Duplicates are handled automatically — when the broker re-sends or consolidates bookings, ZeitRide links them to the existing trip rather than creating a second one. If you ever see a genuine duplicate pair, cancel one with the reason Duplicate.
